Bring The Phoenix Symphony to Your School!
These highly-interactive assembly programs encourage students to develop a deeper understanding of music and integrate music standards with science, language arts and math concepts, helping students make connections across the curriculum. Classroom Concerts are available within a 30 mile radius of downtown Phoenix and align with Arizona's College and Career Ready Standards.
Percussion Quartet: Explore the percussive surfaces all around us! Students will join The Phoenix Symphony Percussion Ensemble on a journey through three primary orchestral percussive surfaces (skins, metals, and woods) to see how all of these are used to make many different genres of music. Students will clap, clack and clang along with our musicians during this exciting concert!
These performances require a minimum stage area of 20' x 20' and can be performed in school cafeterias, gymnasiums, and auditoriums.
Cost: $600 for non-Title I schools / $400 for Title I schools.
Woodwind Quintet: Students will be introduced to the woodwind family of instruments and have opportunities to listen and observe, ask questions, and conduct the quintet through their own newly-composed piece!
Brass Quintet: Experience the dynamic drama of brass instruments! Guided by The Phoenix Symphony Brass Quintet, your students will explore dynamics, or the loudness and quietness, in music and how we all use dynamics to express ourselves. Students will observe, cheer, whisper, clap, and stomp their way through pieces from Germany, Russia, France, and the US!
These performances by small ensembles require a 10' x 10' performance area and can be performed in music classrooms, multipurpose rooms or cafeterias.
Cost: $250 for non-Title I schools / $150 for Title I schools.
