Teacher's Guide Our "Symphony for the Schools" Teacher's Guide provides general information for your symphony concert experience. Contents include a glossary of musical terms, history of the orchestra, concert etiquette, lists of related resources, and other information that can be used for general music appreciation. Concert Education Guide Our "Symphony for the Schools" Concert Education Guide provides information and suggests pre- and post-concert integrated curriculum activities specific to each program's repertoire, and is designed to help prepare students for the concert. Contents also include composer biographies, musical techniques, and more. The Concert Education Guide uses methods from the Arizona Arts Standards, adopted by the Arizona State Board of Education.

Our Arizona Essay Contest As part of The Phoenix Symphony's special event concert, “Our Arizona!” students in grades 3-8 are invited to submit an essay on why they are proud to be an Arizonan! This concert will be held on January 30th, 2008 at the Maricopa County Events Center.

Paint, Poetry, and Movement to Music Contest As a part of The Phoenix Symphony's final concert of the 2007-08 "Symphony for the Schools" series we are pleased to include our annual Paint, Poetry, and Movement to Music Contest. The concerts this season will be held on May 7th & 8th, 2008, at 10 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. Contest Guidelines will be available after winter break. Submission deadline is April 4th, 2008..
