The Phoenix Symphony is Arizona's largest performing arts organization. The 76-member ensemble's annual season each extends from September through May and includes over 265 concerts and presentations. A year-round staff of 30 provides administration, operations, marketing, public relations, and developmental support.

Position: Development Assistant
Department: Development
Description: Provide key administrative support to a dynamic professional development team for the leading symphonic orchestra in the Southwest, The Phoenix Symphony. Maintain member and donor records & files. Prepare donor recognition letters. Produce development reports. Assist with gift processing. Administrative tasks include assisting with events, website, preparing general correspondence, arranging travel, purchasing supplies and maintaining schedules where needed. Work requires some evenings during concert season. The position reports to the Director of Development and has frequent interaction with a development team of six and with other Symphony staff, Board members, volunteers and donors.
Requirements: profit related experience, demonstrated experience in MS Word, Excel & Power Point, Access and Outlook. Ability to use the Tessitura computer software system for development purposes. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Good communication skills and ability to function as a team member in an exciting and fast-paced environment.

Position: Assistant Stage Manager
Reporting Relationship: Stage Manager
Classification: Seasonal (August through May), full-time; excellent benefits; night/weekend hours
Function: As part of the Operations team, the Assistant Stage Manager is responsible for ensuring the physical conditions in which the orchestra works are safe, conducive to music-making and in accordance with the Master Agreement. The Assistant Stage Manager assists with all technological and production-related needs associated with orchestra services and acts as Assistant Production Manager in absence of the Assistant Production Manager.

Position: Marketing and Public Relations Manager
Department: Marketing & Public Relations
Description: Working in conjunction with interim Marketing Director and as part of the marketing team, The Marketing and Public Relations Manager promotes The Phoenix Symphony and its performances through implementation of its advertising and publicity campaigns. Essential functions include creation of promotions and sales initiatives to increase ticket sales, writing, editing and proofing communiqués related to Phoenix Symphony programs, and implementing campaigns under the direction of the interim Marketing Director. The Marketing Manager serves as primary staff member responsible for the various communications of The Phoenix Symphony's performances, artists and organizational operations to the general public and media. Manager works with the Symphony webmaster to devise programs based on e-marketing initiatives and works to grow web distribution channel. Acts as a resource for other members of the department and organization. Attends concerts as Marketing Department representative as required. Additional projects as assigned.
Requirements: Formal education, and 3-5 years experience in a marketing environment (preferable live event marketing). Knowledge of Classical music repertoire very helpful and a persuasive work style is a must.
